FAQs
When using this magnetic frame, should the stabilizer be placed inside the frame or 'floated' outside of it?
For most projects using MaggieFrame magnetic hoops embroidery, the stabilizer should be sandwiched with the fabric between the two magnetic sides for ideal tension and clean stitching. However, when working with bulky or hard-to-hoop items on Avance embroidery machines, floating the stabilizer below the bottom magnetic frame can help maintain proper alignment and prevent wrinkles.
Is it necessary to use protective stickers on the frame to prevent it from scratching the fabric?
MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery frames are crafted with a smooth, coated finish that prevents scratches on all common embroidery fabrics. Protective stickers are not essential. Some users, however, prefer adding a layer of painter’s tape or thin film on the frame surface, particularly when hooping delicate or slippery materials, to enhance grip and stability during embroidery operations.
How can I use the markings on this frame to ensure my design is perfectly centered on a t-shirt?
The alignment guide and etched grid on the MaggieFrame magnetic hoop help you position designs accurately on garments. Simply mark the desired center on your t-shirt, then align it with the center crosshair on the hoop. Using a placement ruler or a T-square improves precision. This method helps Avance machine users achieve consistent logo positioning every time.
Which size magnetic frame is recommended for beginners starting an embroidery business?
For newcomers to embroidery, the MaggieFrame 3.9″ × 3.9″ (100 × 100 mm) magnetic hoop for Avance is an excellent starting point. It’s versatile for left-chest logos, patches, and small motifs. Its compact form makes hooping faster and easier, helping new users master magnetic hoop embroidery techniques efficiently before expanding to larger magnetic frame sizes.
