FAQs
What types of designs is this 6.5″ × 6.5″ (165 × 165 mm) frame best suited for?
This MaggieFrame magnetic hoop size works perfectly for small to medium embroidery like polo logos, patches, and sleeve decorations. It provides a balanced stitching area large enough for detailed designs while keeping fabric stable. Ideal for Avance 1501C and 1201C machines, this embroidery magnetic hoop helps achieve clean outlines with minimal hoop marks.
I mainly embroider polo logos. How do I choose between different hoop sizes?
For polo logos, the 6.5″ × 6.5″ (165 × 165 mm) magnetic frame is one of the most popular choices as it centers well on left-chest areas. If you occasionally handle larger or stacked text designs, try the 8″ hoop for extra workspace. Both sizes maintain stability and quality stitching on Avance embroidery machines.
When using this magnetic frame, should the stabilizer be placed inside the hoop or floated outside?
For most garments, place the stabilizer inside between the hoop layers to secure fabric and prevent shifting during stitching. For thick fabrics or hard-to-hoop items, floating the stabilizer under the bottom magnetic frame is effective. Both techniques work well with MaggieFrame embroidery hoops for Avance models depending on material type and tension needs.
My needle hit the edge of the frame. Why did this happen and how can I avoid it?
Needle strikes usually occur when the selected hoop size in your machine’s software is larger than the actual sewing field, or the embroidery design slightly exceeds frame limits. Always select the correct or smaller hoop size for your Avance embroidery machine and perform a trace test before stitching. This helps protect your MaggieFrame magnetic hoop and ensures safe operation.
