FAQs
What is the correct procedure for hooping fabric with this magnetic frame?
Start by placing the bottom frame of the MaggieFrame magnetic hoop on a flat surface. Lay your stabilizer and fabric over it, ensuring they are smooth. Then, align and gently set the top magnetic frame—no need for force. The magnets lock automatically, making setup quick and uniform. This magnetic hoops method ensures smooth tension for precise embroidery on ETM machines.
Should I buy a complete set of magnetic frames, or just the one size I use most often?
It’s best to begin with the MaggieFrame magnetic hoop size you use most, such as 7.7″ × 12.5″ (195 × 315 mm), and expand later. Many ETM embroidery machine users quickly realize the convenience and productivity benefits of owning several magnetic hoops for different designs, garments, and placements, enhancing workflow flexibility and minimizing repetitive setup time.
Are there any situations where a traditional screw hoop would be better than this magnetic frame?
While the MaggieFrame magnetic hoop suits nearly all embroidery projects, extremely thick or stiff materials—like multi-layer boots or heavy canvas—might benefit from a traditional screw type frame for extra tension. For most ETM embroidery machine jobs such as apparel, bags, and towels, magnetic hoops provide faster setup, consistent results, and safer fabric handling.
Compared to my machine's original round hoop, what are the advantages of using this square magnetic frame for logos?
The square shape of the MaggieFrame magnetic hoop offers a larger sewing field for rectangular designs and logos. On ETM embroidery machines, this means better fabric positioning, easier centering, and more efficient use of the embroidery area. The flat sides simplify alignment for logo placements, delivering cleaner stitching and reducing the need for re-hooping.
