FAQs
Is it necessary to use protective stickers on the frame to prevent it from scratching the fabric?
While not necessary, the MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop is engineered with a smooth finish that’s safe for most materials. However, for ultra-slippery or delicate fabrics such as silk or satin, some users prefer to apply a thin layer of painter’s tape for extra grip and peace of mind during embroidery on ETM 1501 C1 or similar models.
Is this magnetic hoop heavier than the standard hoop? Will the extra weight add strain to my machine's motor?
This MaggieFrame magnetic hoop is slightly heavier due to its built-in strong magnets, but it’s carefully balanced to remain within the safe weight range for ETM embroidery machines. The robust structure won’t cause any additional motor strain or reduce stitching accuracy, ensuring stable long-term performance across various magnetic embroidery frame sizes.
I feel like the magnetic frame is shifting slightly on the machine during high-stitch-count designs. How can I fix this?
Though uncommon, slight movement can occur with dense stitch patterns or slick fabric. First, verify your ETM brackets and screws are fully tightened. Second, use appropriate stabilizer underlay to increase grip. For extra hold on smooth surfaces, a small sheet of non-slip liner between the fabric and the frame bottom can help maintain perfect alignment for every magnetic hoop session.
Are the top and bottom parts of the magnetic frame symmetrical, or do they have a specific orientation?
The MaggieFrame hoop components are not symmetrical; each part is uniquely shaped for precise fit and alignment. Both the top and bottom frames include magnets, which ensures even tension and prevents fabric slippage during embroidery. Always align the frame according to the guide marks so your ETM embroidery machine can maintain accurate registration and smooth stitching.
