FAQs
Compared to my machine's original round hoop, what are the advantages of using this square magnetic frame for logos?
The square 9.5″ × 9.5″ (240 × 240 mm) MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery frame for Ume embroidery machines offers more usable sewing space than standard round hoops. Its straight edges make it easier to align designs such as logos or patches on garments, improving accuracy and minimizing fabric distortion. It’s ideal for embroidery machines where precise placement and stability matter.
Can I use this frame size to embroider small items like baby onesies or pet bandanas?
This 9.5″ × 9.5″ (240 × 240 mm) hoop is mid-sized, great for medium projects like logos or chest designs. For very small items such as onesies or pet accessories, you can float them using stabilizer within the frame to avoid slipping. MaggieFrame embroidery machine hoops provide flexibility for delicate or irregularly shaped materials while maintaining tension and durability.
What is the correct procedure for hooping fabric with this magnetic frame? Are there any special techniques?
To hoop with the MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop, place the bottom frame on your station, position stabilizer and fabric smoothly on top, and gently lower the upper magnetic frame. No need for force—let the magnets lock the layers evenly. This ensures consistent tension for Ume 801 or UME1201 embroidery machines and reduces risk of hoop marks or fabric stretching.
Help! My needle hit the edge of the frame (a needle strike). Why did this happen and how can I prevent it?
Needle strikes occur when the selected hoop size in your machine settings exceeds the actual embroidery area of the 9.5″ × 9.5″ (240 × 240 mm) magnetic frame or when your design’s dimensions are too large. Always select the correct hoop size in your Ume embroidery machine and perform a trace before stitching. This prevents contact with the MaggieFrame frame and protects your needle and material.
