FAQs

Can I use this magnetic hoop to complete a design larger than the frame itself?

Yes. One advantage of the MaggieFrame magnetic hoop 6.9″ × 6.9″ (175 × 175 mm) for WAF embroidery machines is the simple re-hooping process. You can easily slide the fabric and re-snap the magnet hoops to continue longer or continuous designs, such as sashes, banners, or borders, much faster than with traditional embroidery machine hoops.

Why is my fabric puckering in the center even when it feels tightly hooped?

Puckering usually relates to stabilizer selection, not the hoop. For your magnetic embroidery frame on WAF machines, ensure you’re using the right stabilizer type and weight. Cut-away stabilizer is ideal for knits, while tear-away works well on woven fabric. Always keep fabric relaxed in the hoop—it should be flat but not stretched before stitching.

Should I buy a complete set of magnetic hoops or just one size?

We suggest starting with the size you use most often, such as the 6.9″ (175 mm) model. Many users appreciate how the MaggieFrame magnetic hoops streamline workflow and later expand to a full set to handle shirts, jackets, and caps. Having multiple embroidery machine hoop sizes ensures maximum efficiency across diverse projects.

What if the magnetic frame shifts slightly during dense embroidery designs?

This is uncommon thanks to strong rare-earth magnets. First, verify that your WAF brackets are fully tightened to the magnetic embroidery frame. Using the correct stabilizer and material backing is also essential. For heavy fabrics or very dense stitch designs, place a thin non-slip liner between layers to enhance grip and stability.
