FAQs
Why is my fabric puckering in the center during embroidery, even though I hooped it tightly with the magnetic frame?
Puckering usually occurs due to stabilizer mismatch rather than hooping quality. When using the MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop for your EMBROIDERY NOTION machine, select the proper stabilizer type and weight—such as a medium cut-away stabilizer for knit materials. Ensure the fabric lays flat and remains relaxed while hooping to achieve smooth, even stitching.
When using this magnetic frame, should the stabilizer be placed inside the frame or floated outside of it?
With the MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery frame, both techniques work. For most fabrics, it's best to sandwich the stabilizer and fabric between the magnetic hoops for maximum stability. For bulky or delicate items, like jackets or towels, you can float the stabilizer under the bottom frame to reduce compression marks and hoop stress.
I need to embroider a very small item like a tie or sock. Can I float these items on top of this frame?
Yes. The MaggieFrame 8.5″ × 9″ (215 × 230 mm) hoop is ideal for floating. Hoop a piece of sticky stabilizer or base fabric, then position your small accessory—tie, sock, or patch—securely on top. This setup keeps the item firmly in place while preventing any fabric distortion or unnecessary tension during embroidery.
Is this magnetic hoop heavier than a standard embroidery hoop? Will the added weight affect my machine’s motor?
The MaggieFrame magnetic hoop for EMBROIDERY NOTION machines is slightly heavier because of the embedded magnets that provide high holding force. However, it’s engineered within your embroidery machine’s tolerance limits. The additional weight will not strain the motor or impact running speed, ensuring smooth and safe operation every time.
