FAQs
Are there any pro-tips for using this magnetic frame with very thin or stretchy fabrics (like silk or Spandex) to prevent over-stretching?
Yes. The key is to avoid pulling or stretching the fabric when hooping. Lay the thin or stretchy material and stabilizer smoothly on the bottom frame, ensuring no tension. Then let the top magnetic frame lock it gently in place. This method prevents fabric distortion and puckering, resulting in crisp and balanced embroidery even on delicate materials.
If I have computers or USB drives near my embroidery station, could the strong magnets damage my electronic data?
While MaggieFrame magnetic hoops are safe for general use, it’s best to keep them at least 50 cm away from computers, USB drives, credit cards, or other magnetic storage devices. The strong magnets in the frame may interfere with sensitive data storage. Organizing your embroidery area with adequate separation helps protect your electronic equipment and maintain safe operation.
Is it necessary to use protective stickers on the frame to prevent it from scratching the fabric?
No, MaggieFrame magnetic hoops for WAF embroidery machines have a smooth, polished finish that is gentle on all fabric types. Protective stickers or tapes are not required under normal conditions. However, if working with ultra-slippery materials, a thin layer of painter’s tape can be applied along the frame edge for extra grip without affecting stitch quality or alignment.
When using this magnetic frame, should the stabilizer be placed inside the frame or floated outside of it?
For most embroidery projects on WAF multi-head models, placing the stabilizer inside the magnetic hoop—sandwiched between the fabric layers—ensures the best tension and accuracy. However, for bulky or irregular items, a floating setup (stabilizer beneath the bottom frame only) can be useful. Both methods work effectively with MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoops, depending on your design and material type.
